Of all the video games I’ve played in my life, never before have I heard a soundtrack that was so powerful. Ecco the Dolphin was one of best games in the 90’s mainly because of the mesmerizing music.

Okay, this game, about a dolphin saving the future of earth as we know it, has some of the most compelling and moving music I’ve ever heard. And I never get over that fact. If you truly immerse yourself in the music and the game, it sinks into you, and you can be taken on an emotional sensory ride. And I got all of this out of the game when I was just about twelve or thirteen. Though even without the context of the game its still powerful and calming.

This track in particular always had a strong and close place in my heart. It made me have a particular fondness for music like this. And any one who knows me would be able to see the resemblances instantly.

When I listen to this I’m taken back to fond and quiet simpler times, when I’d play this so many years back. It connects me back to a lot of things I love. Especially if I listen to it on rainy days, It feels like I’m dreaming in an ocean.

Ecco music is stunning, I listen to it very often when I work or when I want to relax.

all this reminds me of is being a greased up dolphin in a series of inexplicably slippery water tubes suspended thousands of miles above the earth trying to keep up with a screen that’s constantly moving and being consistently thwarted by a god damn teleporting massive fucking jellyfish who wants to toss you out of the sky for unknown reasons. No thanks jellyfish, trying to stay in tubes was hard enough jesus christ

Ecco the Dolphin Songs of Time 1996 Soundtrack – This was a promotional soundtrack distributed in limited quantities by Sega Music Group. Its too bad the ebay auction page is no longer available, I would have loved to see how much it sold for.
